Alvarez Webworks is a one-person web design studio in Frankenmuth, Michigan, serving the Great Lakes Bay Region.
I'm Andrew — Alvarez Webworks is me, a Michigan LLC based in Frankenmuth, and an unreasonable amount of coffee. That's not a limitation I'm hiding; it's the whole point. When you hire me, the person who answers your email, designs your site, and builds it are all the same person.
I started this business because I kept watching good small businesses get one of two bad deals: agency websites priced for corporations, or template sites from faraway companies that stop answering the phone after launch. There's a better deal in the middle — honest craft, at a price a small shop can justify, from someone who'll still answer in a year.
I build with the same modern tools the big agencies use. The difference is who you're talking to. No account managers, no handoffs, no ticket numbers. You get my phone number, and I answer it.
If the site feels calm, that's on purpose; it was probably built at dusk with rain on the window and lo-fi in the headphones. When I'm not building websites, that's usually where you'll find me — coffee going cold, one more small thing to get right before I call it a night.
Why “Alvarez”?
I took their name because I want their work ethic in everything I build.
Alvarez is my grandparents' name — Elvira and Bernard. I never got to meet my grandfather. But my grandmother raised me, and everything I hold close came from her: how you treat people, how you show up, how you finish what you start.
They're the hardest-working people I've ever known. When it came time to name this business, I didn't want a made-up word or my own name on the door. I took theirs — because I want their work ethic in everything I build, and in every person I build it for.
